Christmas: Gifts are given in abundance over the Christmas holidays and actually it is the perfect time to give someone some nice whole leaf tea. In general in the UK it’s cold over the winter months so what better gift to receive than a tea gift, as it is something that will warm you. A lot of tea companies will do customized Christmas tea blends so try to look out for some of these such as Christmas spiced tea and as always loose leaf tea is best.
Valentines Day: Of course tea is a great gift to give on Valentine’s Day. Especially if you are giving it to someone who you know loves tea. The fact that you have gone against the grain and picked a present based on something you know they love will win you serious brownie points! Look out for heart shaped blooming teas as a great gift at this time of year.
St Patricks Day: Well not only the Irish can celebrate St Patricks day and what better gift on this day than some Irish Breakfast Tea! To be drunk in the morning before heading down to the pub for a Guinness or two!
Easter: Tea is the perfect Easter gift for someone who is trying to be healthy. Instead of giving them a tempting chocolate egg, a herbal tea made from cocoa shells could be a great alternative! Families tend to come together at this time of year so it is a great opportunity to all catch up and in my opinion tea is the perfect medium for this.
Independence Day: Celebrated mainly in America, this is still a great opportunity to spread the tea love. What would make a great present here would be some All American Sweet Iced Tea! Popular mainly in the Southern States, sweet iced tea is a great gift for your Independence Day party.
Halloween: I’m going to mix things up a little here and say that actually teaware is a great gift for Halloween. Because what is better than a container with a handle for you Halloween rhyming needs? I’m kidding obviously but if you look around you can get some pretty cool spooky, Halloween themed teacups and teapots out there!
Guy Fawkes: The 5th of November is known as Guy Fawkes Night in the United Kingdom. On this night bonfires are lit across the country of effigies of Guy Fawkes are set alight! The idea tea gift on a night like that would have to be a naturally smoked Lapsang Souchong tea and a travel mug so that your friend can keep themselves nice and warm as they admire the bonfires!
I haven’t covered every holiday here but you get the idea. If you need a tea gift idea simply turn your mind to tea and see what wonders you can come up with!
